Google has confirmed that its upcoming Pixel 11 series will launch at higher prices as the company grapples with rising memory costs. The increase comes amid an industry-wide RAM shortage that has forced several smartphone brands to revise their pricing.

The Pixel 11 lineup is expected to debut during Google’s Made by Google event on August 12, where the company is likely to unveil four smartphones.

Google blames industry-wide RAM shortage

According to a report by 9to5Google, Shakil Barkat, Google’s Vice President of Devices and Services, said the company’s hardware business has been affected by a supplier-driven RAM shortage.

He reportedly described the issue as an industry-wide challenge affecting consumer technology companies worldwide.

Barkat also cited a Morgan Stanley report, which claims the price of 1GB of RAM has increased from $2.8 in 2025 to $12 in 2026. That represents an increase of more than four times in just a year.

As a result, Google plans to adjust Pixel pricing to reflect higher component costs.

Pixel 11 series won’t be the only devices affected

The report suggests Google will introduce a dynamic pricing strategy across its Pixel portfolio.

That means the upcoming Pixel 11 series will launch at higher prices. Existing Pixel smartphones, including the Pixel 10 lineup, could also become more expensive in the coming weeks.

Google has not announced revised prices for current devices. However, the executive reportedly indicated that future price adjustments will depend on supply conditions.

Expected Pixel 11 prices

Recent leaks have already hinted at higher prices for Google’s next flagship smartphones.

According to earlier reports, the Google Pixel 11 could start at EUR 999 for the 256GB variant in Europe.

The Pixel 11 Pro may launch at EUR 1,199, while the Pixel 11 Pro XL could start at EUR 1,399 for the same storage option.

Google is also expected to introduce the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, although its pricing has not been officially confirmed.

These prices apply to select global markets. Google has not announced pricing for India.

What to expect from the Pixel 11 series

Leaks suggest the Pixel 11 lineup could feature Google’s next-generation Tensor G6 processor.

The standard Pixel 11 is also expected to offer a triple rear camera setup, while the Pro models could receive further camera and AI upgrades.

Google has not confirmed the specifications or even the final branding of the Pixel 11 series. More details should emerge during the company’s launch event next month.

Launch date

Google has already scheduled its Made by Google event for August 12. The event begins at 3 pm PT, which translates to 3:30 am IST on August 13.

Alongside the Pixel 11 series, Google is also expected to unveil new Pixel accessories and additional AI-powered software features.
