What are the biggest differences between the Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16c?

Although the two phones share a similar design language and software experience, there are notable differences.

The Oppo Reno 16 features a compact 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,216 × 2,640 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, delivers up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness, and offers a pixel density of 460ppi.

The Reno 16c gets a larger 6.57-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness.

Performance also differs between the two devices. The Reno 16 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

Meanwhile, the Reno 16c uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor with LPDDR4X RAM and the same storage options.

Both smartphones run Android 16 with ColorOS 16 and feature in-display fingerprint sensors alongside face unlock support.

What cameras do the phones offer?

Photography remains one of the biggest highlights of the Reno lineup.

The Oppo Reno 16 features a triple 50MP rear camera system. It includes a Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera with an 80mm equivalent focal length.

The Reno 16c retains the same 50MP primary camera but replaces the ultra-wide lens with an 8MP sensor. Both devices continue to offer a 50MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

Oppo has also equipped both smartphones with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications for dust and water resistance, making them among the most protected smartphones in their segment.

Battery, charging, and connectivity

Battery capacity is another major difference between the two models.

The Oppo Reno 16 houses a 6,700mAh battery, while the Reno 16c packs an even larger 7,000mAh cell. Both smartphones support 80W wired fast charging.

Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-band Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS.

Why does the Oppo Reno 16 launch matter?

The Oppo Reno 16 series strengthens Oppo’s position in India’s premium mid-range smartphone market by offering two devices that target different user preferences. The Reno 16 prioritizes display quality, camera versatility, and Snapdragon performance, while the Reno 16c focuses on battery life without sacrificing core features such as AMOLED displays, Android 16, and 80W charging.

With flagship-inspired specifications, enhanced durability, and large batteries becoming standard expectations, the Oppo Reno 16 series reflects how competitive the premium smartphone segment has become in India.
