Nothing CMF Phone 2 Pro Arrives in India with Customisable Design and In-Box Charger
Nothing’s sub-brand CMF has officially launched the CMF Phone 2 Pro in India, starting at ₹18,999. This is a follow-up to last year’s CMF Phone 1. Along with the new phone, the brand also introduced three new wireless earbuds under its Buds 2 lineup.
A Closer Look at CMF Phone 2 Pro
The Nothing CMF Phone 2 brings a flexible 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. It supports HDR10+ and uses a 10-bit panel, which is impressive for its price.
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset. It comes with 8 GB RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB UFS 2.2 storage. Memory expansion is possible up to 2 TB using a microSD card. It runs on Nothing OS 3.2 based on Android 15.
The smartphone also ships with a 5,000 mAh battery and includes a 33W charger in the box—something rare in this segment now. It supports 5W wireless charging, although that may feel too slow for most users.
The ‘Essential Space’ and Back Customisation
One standout feature of the CMF Phone 2 Pro is the Essential Key, which offers quick access to what the company calls the “Essential Space.” This space lets users open specific apps or functions instantly. The phone’s rear panel also supports accessories like a lanyard or a fisheye lens, allowing for some playful hardware customisation.
Design-wise, it comes in four colour options—Black and Light Green in matte finish, and Orange and White in a dual-tone design. It carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Camera and Photography Features
The CMF Phone 2 Pro sports a triple-camera setup. It includes a 50 MP primary sensor, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8 MP ultrawide camera. A 16 MP front camera handles selfies. While the specs look solid, how they perform in real-world use remains to be seen. The camera tuning will be key in determining the phone’s photography strength.
Pricing and Availability in India
The 8 GB/128 GB variant is priced at ₹18,999, while the 8 GB/256 GB model costs ₹20,999. Sales begin May 5 on Flipkart. At this pricing, the phone enters the competitive budget-mid range space.
CMF Buds 2 Series Also Launches
Alongside the phone, CMF also launched three earbuds: Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus.
The CMF Buds 2, priced at ₹2,699, feature 11 mm drivers tuned by Dirac and offer up to 48 dB hybrid active noise cancellation. Playback extends up to 13.5 hours, and a quick 10-minute charge offers up to 7.5 hours.
The Buds 2 Plus offer a more premium experience at ₹3,299 with 12 mm LCP drivers, Hi-Res LDAC, and up to 50 dB ANC. A quick charge provides 8.5 hours of use, with total playtime extending up to 61.5 hours with ANC off.
The entry-level Buds 2a, priced at ₹2,199, still manage to bring 42 dB ANC, 12.4 mm drivers, and AI-powered noise cancellation. They offer up to 8 hours of listening on a single charge.
All three earbuds are expected to be available in India by the end of Q2 2025.
What Could Have Been Better
While the Nothing CMF Phone 2 packs many attractive features for the price, the use of UFS 2.2 storage feels dated. The 5W wireless charging is also quite slow, especially as other brands are pushing faster wireless options. Lastly, camera performance will need real-world validation to justify the impressive-sounding hardware.
Final Thoughts
The Nothing CMF Phone 2 Pro tries to stand out with design tweaks, software features like the Essential Space, and practical add-ons like an in-box charger. It’s a value-focused phone, but expectations will now hinge on software updates, camera output, and overall performance.
