Meet ChatGPT Pulse
OpenAI has launched a new feature inside ChatGPT called ChatGPT Pulse. The tool creates personalized morning briefs while users sleep. Each day, Pulse delivers five to ten reports designed to help people start their day informed.
Morning briefs for Pro subscribers
The company has rolled out Pulse first to subscribers of the $200-a-month ChatGPT Pro plan. Starting September 25, 2025, it appears as a new tab in the ChatGPT app. Although OpenAI wants to expand it to Plus users, the system needs to become more efficient before a broader release.
Reports tailored to users
Each brief appears as a card with AI-generated text and images. Users can open the card, read the report, and ask follow-up questions. Moreover, Pulse creates news roundups, sports updates, trip itineraries, or themed suggestions. Users may also request new reports or provide feedback to improve accuracy.
Designed to avoid endless scrolling
Unlike social media feeds, Pulse does not push endless content. Instead, it stops after a few briefs and displays the message: “Great, that’s it for today.” According to product lead Adam Fry, the design ensures users focus on value instead of scrolling.
Integration with Connectors
Pulse works with ChatGPT Connectors, which link apps such as Google Calendar and Gmail. Consequently, it can surface important emails, prepare agendas, and highlight upcoming events. When memory is active, Pulse also pulls details from earlier conversations to personalize reports further.
Personalized planning
Several demos highlight its flexibility. For instance, it prepared travel itineraries that included running routes, suggested Halloween costumes for families, and even offered toddler-friendly plans. In addition, Pulse adapts to dietary preferences, recommending meals that fit specific lifestyles.
Limited by compute resources
OpenAI has restricted Pulse to Pro users because of heavy computing demands. Some briefs generate quickly, yet others require time since they involve web searches and document synthesis. CEO Sam Altman explained earlier that limited server capacity forces the company to reserve compute-intensive features for premium tiers.
Future potential of Pulse
OpenAI envisions Pulse as more than a reporting tool. In the future, it could book restaurants, draft emails, or manage tasks. However, those capabilities depend on progress in agentic AI models. For now, Pulse signals a shift: ChatGPT is no longer just reactive, but proactive in supporting users.
