Mappls App to Show Real-Time Delhi Metro Updates Post DMRC Partnership

Here’s How Mappls Will Show Metro Updates

Delhi Metro commuters will soon find their journeys easier to plan and navigate, thanks to a new partnership between the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Mappls MapmyIndia. The collaboration will bring real-time metro data directly into the Mappls app, helping millions of users get quick access to metro routes, fares, train timings, and travel plans.

Real-Time Metro Info for Smarter Travel

The integration means over 35 million Mappls users can now view detailed information about Delhi Metro lines within the app. Commuters will be able to check nearby stations, interchange points, fares, train frequency, and even estimated travel times.

This move aims to make metro travel in Delhi-NCR more predictable and stress-free. Instead of switching between multiple apps or station displays, users will get all the details in one place — right from when to board to how long a journey might take.

DMRC and Mappls Push for Smarter Urban Mobility

Announcing the partnership, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, said the step aligns with Delhi Metro’s goal of making travel more convenient through technology. “The integration of DMRC’s metro data with the Mappls app will make travel across NCR smarter and seamless — enabling commuters to plan better, navigate easily, and save time,” he said.

Rakesh Verma, Co-Founder and Group Chairman of MapmyIndia, added that the data will soon become part of the multi-modal transport feature in the Mappls app. This will allow users to connect metro routes with other modes of transport like buses, cabs, or even walking routes for last-mile connectivity.

A Broader Vision for Connected Mobility

The collaboration comes soon after a similar tie-up between Indian Railways and Mappls, announced by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Together, these integrations reflect India’s growing push toward building indigenous digital mobility solutions under the vision of an Aatmanirbhar Viksit Bharat.

Mappls’ upcoming features will also link Delhi Metro data with its Traffic and Public Engagement Platform. Through this, users can report traffic congestion, parking issues, or waterlogging directly via the app. Reported data will reach relevant authorities for quicker response, helping improve city traffic management and civic coordination.

What It Means for Delhi-NCR Commuters

For millions of daily metro users, this integration could transform how they move across the city. By combining real-time updates, location intelligence, and route optimization, Mappls will make Delhi’s metro system more accessible, transparent, and user-friendly.

DMRC said the initiative fits within its broader plan to promote smarter urban mobility and improve public transport through digital innovation and partnerships.

As Delhi continues to grow into a smarter city, such collaborations mark an important step toward integrated, data-driven transport ecosystems that make commuting easier for everyone.
