Instagram is turning up the heat in India with a new update that boosts creator reach. The platform will soon support Meta AI voice translations in Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi. This expansion follows the earlier rollout that allowed creators to dub reels between English, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Creators can now expect a smoother way to speak to new audiences. The tool keeps their original voice tone intact while making the reel sound fluent in another language. Moreover, the lip-sync option aligns mouth movements with translated audio, making the transition look natural.
How creators will use it
The feature sits inside the reel creation workflow. After uploading a clip, creators can switch on Meta AI translation and choose a target language. The tool handles the rest. It processes the reel, adjusts the voice, and syncs the lips. Therefore, creators can expand their presence without recording extra audio or learning new languages.
Instagram boosts Edits with Indian fonts
Instagram is also rolling out new Indian fonts across Edits. Users will soon see Devanagari and Bengali-Assamese script options for languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Assamese. This update arrives on Android first.
Inside the editing timeline, users can tap Text, hit the Aa icon, and browse fonts. Devices set to Indian scripts will see these fonts by default. Others can swipe the All Fonts tab to filter them by language.
More creator tools arrive
These announcements join a wave of recent features designed to support India’s massive creator community. Instagram added restyle tools, bulk caption editing, reverse video options, lip sync for photos, and more than 400 new sound effects. The platform continues to push AI-driven editing so creators can build faster and reach audiences across multiple languages.
