Fast Track Immigration: How to Skip Long Queues at Indian Airports?

Airport immigration lines can be long, stressful, and unpredictable. If you’re an Indian citizen or an OCI cardholder planning to travel internationally, you can now cut that wait time significantly.

India’s Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) allows verified travelers quicker immigration clearance. But remember — you must apply at least a month before you travel.

Who Can Use Fast Track Immigration?

Only the following categories are eligible:

  • Indian nationals
  • Overseas Citizens of India (OCI cardholders)

Applicants must have a valid passport and meet all documentation requirements. Once approved, the membership lasts for 10 years or until passport expiry, whichever is earlier.

Required Documents for FTI-TTP

Before applying, make sure you have the following documents ready:

  • Recent passport-size photograph (white background, ears visible, not older than 6 months)
  • Passport (minimum 6 months validity, first and last page scanned)
  • Proof of current address (any one of these):
    • Voter ID
    • Last 3 months’ mobile/landline bill
    • Last 3 months’ electricity bill
    • Driving License
    • Spouse’s passport (if address matches)
    • Parent’s passport (for minors)
    • Foreign government-issued ID (if living outside India)
  • Scanned copy of OCI card (both biographic and address pages)

Note: Aadhaar card is not accepted as proof of address.

How to Apply for Fast Track Immigration?

  1. Visit the official FTI-TTP portal.
  2. Register using OTP verification on your mobile and email.
  3. Upload scanned documents (photo, passport, address proof, OCI card if applicable).
  4. Submit the application and receive an acknowledgment.
  5. Schedule biometric enrolment via appointment link sent by email.

Applications may be rejected if incorrect data is submitted, documents are unclear, or the current address is missing.

Where to Enroll Biometrics?

After approval, you must enroll your fingerprints and facial image at one of the 31 international airports or 12 FRRO offices in India.
