Apple’s Most Affordable MacBook Could Start at Rs 50,000, To Launch Soon

This Will Be The Most Affordable MacBook in Apple’s History

Apple is reportedly preparing to enter the budget laptop segment with a new MacBook priced between $599 and $699. That’s roughly ₹50,000 to ₹58,000 in India. The launch could happen as early as late 2025 or early 2026, according to new industry reports.

Designed to Compete With Chromebooks

The upcoming MacBook is expected to target Chromebook buyers and students. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo first revealed the plan in June, while DigiTimes now suggests a 12.9-inch display, slightly smaller than the MacBook Air’s 13.6-inch screen.

Powered by iPhone’s A18 Pro Chip

In a major shift, the new model could be the first Mac powered by an iPhone chip. The A18 Pro debuted in the iPhone 16 Pro series in 2024. It lacks Thunderbolt support but will feature regular USB-C ports to keep costs low.

Production and Launch Timeline

Component production could begin by late Q3 2025, with assembly at Quanta’s facilities in Q4. This timeline aligns with mass availability in late 2025 or early 2026.

Potential Sales Boost

Market estimates suggest annual shipments between 5 million and 7 million units. This could increase Apple’s MacBook sales volume by up to 40 percent.

Colour Options and Design

Reports indicate an ultra-thin, lightweight body with colour choices like Silver, Blue, Pink, and Yellow. The design will keep Apple’s signature premium feel while aiming for affordability.

If launched at this price point, it will mark the most affordable MacBook in Apple’s history, expanding its reach to a broader audience.
