At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, Google introduced powerful new features for its AI assistant, Gemini. Users will soon be able to interact with the AI in real-time using videos and on-screen content. These features aim to make Gemini more interactive and responsive to user needs.
Screenshare: Ask Questions Using Your Phone’s Screen
One of the biggest updates is the new “Screenshare” feature. It allows users to share their phone’s screen with Gemini and ask questions based on what’s displayed. For example, if you’re shopping online, you can ask Gemini for fashion advice. Google demonstrated this by showing a user looking at baggy jeans and asking for styling suggestions.
This feature makes Gemini more useful in everyday situations. Whether you’re reading an article, navigating an app, or exploring online stores, you can get instant insights without switching tabs or typing long queries.
Video Search: Get Instant Answers While Filming
Google also showcased a new video search feature. This allows users to film something and ask Gemini questions about it in real time. The company first teased this capability during Google I/O last year, and it’s finally coming to life.
Imagine you’re filming a plant and want to know its species, or recording a recipe and need cooking tips. With this feature, you can get answers without stopping the video. This innovation makes searching more seamless and natural.
When Will These Features Be Available?
Google confirmed that both Screenshare and video search will roll out later this month. They will be available to Gemini Advanced users through the Google One AI Premium plan on Android devices.
These updates make AI assistants more intuitive and interactive, bridging the gap between human curiosity and instant AI-powered answers.
