Vivo X Fold 5 Launch Expected to Launch in India on July 10

Vivo X Fold 5: A Premium Foldable With Brighter Display and Slimmer Design

Vivo is ready to shake up the foldable market again. The company’s next foldable phone, Vivo X Fold 5, is expected to launch soon with meaningful upgrades. A recent Weibo post by Vivo product manager Han Boxiao gave a closer look at the phone’s inner display, revealing key new features.

4,500-Nit Display With LTPO Tech

One of the biggest highlights is the LTPO 8T panel on both the inner and outer screens. This tech supports an adaptive refresh rate for smoother visuals, ideal for gaming and browsing.

The screen also reaches a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, making it usable even under strong sunlight. To ensure eye comfort, Vivo has added high-frequency PWM dimming at full brightness, along with TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification.

Colour Precision With Zeiss Partnership

Vivo continues its partnership with Zeiss to fine-tune the display’s colour accuracy. This means true-to-life visuals and consistent output on both screens — a step up for mobile creators and photographers.

New Button, Slimmer Frame

A small but noticeable design shift is the new button on the phone’s left side. It replaces the alert slider found in the X Fold 3 series. While its function hasn’t been confirmed, it could be used for quick actions or shortcuts.

The X Fold 5 is lighter and slimmer than its predecessor. It weighs 209 grams, compared to 219g for the X Fold 3 and 236g for the X Fold 3 Pro. Its thickness is 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.33mm when folded — slightly larger than the Oppo Find N5, but still in the league of the thinnest foldables.

Built for the Real World

Unlike many fragile foldables, Vivo’s new foldable is built tough. It can work in temperatures as low as -20°C, and it carries IP5X dust and IPX9 water resistance ratings — which combine to form an IP59 rating.

That’s stronger than even Samsung’s latest foldables, which usually max out at IPX8. So, if you’re worried about real-world use, Vivo has you covered.

India Launch on the Cards

If reports are accurate, Vivo X Fold 5 will launch in India on July 10, alongside the Vivo X200 FE. This will be the first time the standard X Fold series comes to India, after only the premium X Fold 3 Pro launched earlier.

This move will offer more foldable options for Indian users, especially those looking for thin, light, and feature-rich designs.

Samsung, Honor, and the Foldable Battle

Samsung is set to launch its Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 next month. The Z Fold 7 is rumoured to be the world’s thinnest foldable. But Honor and Vivo might spoil Samsung’s plans with their own slim designs — paired with better durability, brighter screens, bigger batteries, and faster charging.

With its aggressive push, Vivo is clearly not holding back in the foldable wars.

Conclusion

With a super-bright screen, refined design, and better water and dust protection than rivals, Vivo X Fold 5 is shaping up as one of 2025’s top foldable phones. If it does come to India next month, the competition is about to heat up in a big way.
