Samsung To Turn Living Rooms Into Memory Hubs With Google Photos On Its TVs in 2026

Samsung TVs Finally Get Native Google Photos Support

Samsung has confirmed that Google Photos is coming to its TVs in 2026, ending years of workarounds for users. Until now, people relied on casting or sideloading apps to view their photo libraries on large screens. That changes next year.

The move strengthens Samsung’s smart TV ecosystem while giving Google Photos a dedicated big-screen presence.

Memories Feature Arrives First on Samsung TVs

The initial version of Google Photos on Samsung TVs will focus on the Memories feature. This experience will surface curated photos and videos directly on the TV screen. Samsung says this feature will remain exclusive to its TVs for the first six months.

Users will need to sign in with their Google accounts. Once logged in, personal photos and videos will appear automatically through the Memories interface.

AI Tools Are Part of the Long-Term Plan

Samsung also revealed plans to add AI-powered photo features over time. These include Nano Banana-powered templates, image generation tools, and advanced photo editing.

Another planned addition is the Remix feature. It allows users to transform existing photos into different visual styles. These tools aim to make photo viewing more interactive on large displays.

A Bigger Role for Photos in the Living Room

Google says the TV app aligns with its goal of making memories easier to revisit. Shimrit Ben-Yair, vice president at Google Photos and Google One, said the partnership will help users reconnect with their memories on a larger screen.

With this update, Samsung TVs are set to become more than entertainment hubs. They will also serve as digital memory displays for families.
