Samsung One UI 8.5 Beta Brings Big AI Upgrades and Smarter Galaxy Controls
Samsung has launched the One UI 8.5 beta with a clear promise—make the Galaxy experience easier, faster, and more intuitive. The update adds new creation features, smarter device connectivity, and enhanced protection tools. Here are the biggest changes that users will feel right away.
Key Highlights
– New Photo Assist upgrades boost continuous editing
– Quick Share gets smarter with auto-suggested sharing
– Storage Share expands the Galaxy ecosystem
– Theft Protection adds stronger safety controls
– Beta starts first for Galaxy S25 series users
Smarter Tools for Creating and Sharing Content
Samsung has focused heavily on making content creation feel seamless. The updated Photo Assist lets users keep generating new edits without saving each version. Instead, One UI 8.5 maintains a full edit history, helping users scroll back and pick their final look.
Sharing also gets faster. Quick Share now recognises people in photos and suggests sending images directly to the right contacts. This simple upgrade reduces taps and speeds up everyday sharing.
New Cross-Device Controls for Easier Connectivity
One UI 8.5 introduces features that pull Galaxy devices closer together. Audio Broadcast allows users to broadcast their voice or media audio to nearby LE Audio-supported devices with Auracast. This is useful in group events where people need to hear the same audio feed instantly.
Meanwhile, Storage Share turns Galaxy phones, tablets, PCs, and even TVs into a unified file system. Users can view files from other Samsung devices directly inside the My Files app. They can also open their phone’s storage on other Galaxy products with minimal effort. This builds a more fluid ecosystem and cuts down time spent moving files manually.
Better Protection for Everyday Use
Samsung has added improved security layers with Theft Protection. The feature keeps the device and user data safe even if the phone is lost or stolen. Additionally, Failed Authentication Lock activates when multiple incorrect PIN, password, or fingerprint attempts are detected. Identity checks also now secure more system settings, adding a stronger safety net for sensitive actions.
Availability
The Samsung One UI 8.5 beta rolls out first for the Galaxy S25 series in India, Korea, Germany, Poland, the UK, and the U.S. Users can sign up through the Samsung Members app.
