Realme has introduced the Realme 16 5G in three configurations for the Indian market.
The base variant offers 8GB RAM and 128GB storage at Rs. 31,999. Meanwhile, the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs Rs. 33,999. Additionally, Realme sells a 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version for Rs. 36,999.
Buyers can choose between Air Black and Air White color options. Currently, Realme has opened pre-orders through Flipkart and its official online store. The phone will go on sale across India starting April 5.
To sweeten the launch window, Realme is offering no-cost EMI options for up to 12 months. On top of that, eligible buyers can claim either a Rs. 2,000 bank discount or a Rs. 6,000 exchange bonus.
What Does the Display Offer?
Realme equips the Realme 16 5G with a 6.57-inch full HD+ AMOLED display. The panel delivers a resolution of 1,080 × 2,372 pixels and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Therefore, scrolling and animations appear smoother during everyday use.
Moreover, the display claims a peak brightness of up to 4,200 nits, which helps improve outdoor visibility. Realme also highlights a 93 percent screen-to-body ratio and a 3,000Hz instant touch sampling rate. As a result, the display plays a central role in the phone’s overall experience.
Performance, Chipset, and Software Support
Under the hood, the Realme 16 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset. Realme pairs the processor with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. Consequently, the phone aims to handle multitasking and daily workloads without strain.
To maintain performance under sustained usage, Realme integrates a vapor chamber cooling system with a 6,050mm square heat dissipation area. In addition, the phone carries an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.
On the software side, the Realme 16 5G ships with Android 16 and Realme UI 7.0. Importantly, Realme has confirmed three Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates. This commitment strengthens the phone’s long-term usability.
Camera Setup: How Is It Different?
The Realme 16 5G features a dual rear camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel wide-angle primary sensor with autofocus and an f/1.8 aperture, alongside a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor.
However, the standout feature sits beside the rear cameras. Realme adds a small physical mirror to the camera module, which it calls a “selfie mirror.” This mirror allows users to frame selfies using the main rear camera, thereby improving image quality compared to typical front cameras.
On the front, the phone offers a 50-megapixel selfie camera. As a result, users can choose between high-resolution front selfies or rear-camera selfies using the built-in mirror.
Battery and Charging: A Core Focus
Battery capacity remains one of the biggest highlights of the Realme 16 5G. The device packs a 7,000mAh battery and supports 60W wired fast charging. Additionally, it offers reverse charging support.
According to Realme, the battery can withstand up to 1,600 charging cycles. The company also claims up to 142 hours of music playback on a single charge. Therefore, the phone clearly targets users who value long battery life over frequent top-ups.
Despite the large battery, Realme keeps the design relatively slim. The phone measures 8.10mm in thickness and weighs around 183 grams.
Connectivity and Security Features
In terms of connectivity, the Realme 16 5G supports 5G and 4G LTE networks. It also includes Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB Type‑C port. For navigation, the phone supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS.
For security and convenience, Realme adds facial recognition and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Together, these features round out the device’s everyday usability.
Conclusion
With its large battery, bright AMOLED display, Android 16 software, and distinctive camera hardware, the Realme 16 5G makes a clear statement in India’s competitive 5G smartphone segment. Starting at Rs. 31,999, the Realme 16 5G focuses on endurance, updated software, and practical camera features, making it a notable new entry for 2026 buyers.
