What’s new in OxygenOS 16
OnePlus has launched OxygenOS 16 in India, introducing Android 16 along with design upgrades and AI features. The update focuses on smoother animations, smarter multitasking, and a refreshed interface across devices.
Here’s a look at what’s new for OnePlus users.
1. Fluid animations with Parallel Processing 2.0
OxygenOS 16 brings a new animation engine called Parallel Processing 2.0.
This system allows animations to begin before previous actions end, creating a smoother flow across the interface. From app launches to navigation gestures, every interaction now feels faster and more natural.
2. Customizable icons and better multitasking
Users can now resize app icons and folders to match their style.
The update also optimizes OxygenOS for tablets, offering improved multitasking options. Up to five apps can run together using Open Canvas, three in split view, and two in floating windows — making multitasking more fluid than ever.
3. New lock screen widgets and themes
OxygenOS 16 introduces Flux Theme 2.0, adding depth and motion to wallpapers.
Users can now set video wallpapers or Motion Photos for a more dynamic look.
The lock screen widgets are a big addition — they can be stacked vertically or horizontally and include essential shortcuts. The Always-on Display (AOD) has also been expanded to show wallpapers and live information even when the screen is off.
4. Fluid Cloud brings live information
The new Fluid Cloud interface displays real-time alerts and live updates from apps such as Spotify, food delivery platforms, and sports apps — right on the lock screen.
The interface design also gets softer with Gaussian blur effects, rounded corners, and translucent panels across Quick Settings and the App Drawer, giving OxygenOS a refined and modern look.
5. Plus Mind becomes smarter with AI
The highlight of OxygenOS 16 is Plus Mind, OnePlus’ AI-powered memory tool.
It lets users save images, long screenshots, and voice notes up to a minute long.
Users can now ask questions about stored content directly in the app. Plus Mind also connects with Google Gemini, allowing users to query their saved screenshots and notes using the AI assistant.
Availability in India
OxygenOS 16 is now available in India for select OnePlus smartphones. The update will expand to more devices in the coming weeks.
With Android 16 at its core, OnePlus is bringing a smoother, faster, and more connected experience for its users — powered by a cleaner interface and smarter AI integration.
