OnePlus will unveil the OnePlus 15R in India on December 17. The company will launch it alongside the Pad Go 2. The new phone will target users who want power, endurance, and fresh design. Moreover, OnePlus is teasing some major upgrades across battery, chipset, and camera features.

OnePlus 15R jumps to Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

The OnePlus 15R will be the first phone to run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. This move pushes the R-series into flagship territory. It will ship with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. The phone is also expected to carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. These ratings suggest improved dust and water protection.

Display and design details surface online

Rumours say the OnePlus 15R may be a rebranded OnePlus Ace 6T. If the leak holds true, the phone could feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel. It may use a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The design may also follow the OnePlus 15. Therefore, users could see a redesigned camera island with a dual camera setup.

Camera gets 4K 120fps support

OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus 15R will support 4K video at 120fps. This feature was previously reserved for the flagship OnePlus 15. The phone is said to include a 50MP Sony IMX906 main camera and an 8MP ultrawide lens.

The company confirmed a massive 7,400mAh battery for the phone. It will be the largest ever on any OnePlus device. OnePlus claims the battery will retain at least 80 percent capacity after four years of use. Additionally, the phone will support 80W fast charging.
