Lenskart Announces UPI-enabled Smartglasses

Pay by Just Looking and Speaking

Lenskart is set to change how we pay. At the Global Fintech Festival (GFF) 2025, the eyewear giant announced its upcoming B Camera Smartglasses — and they come with built-in UPI payment support.

A new way to pay, no phone required

The Lenskart UPI Smartglasses allow users to complete transactions simply by scanning a QR code through their glasses. What makes it remarkable is that there’s no need for a phone, PIN, or manual input.

Using a feature called UPI Circle, the glasses securely connect to the user’s bank account. Once linked, transactions are completed through voice authentication and commands, the company said.

This means you can walk into a café, scan the merchant’s QR code through your glasses, speak to confirm, and the payment is done.

Bringing AI and payments together

The smartglasses aren’t just about convenience. They combine AI-powered vision tools, on-the-go camera features, and real-time payments — merging the worlds of sight, intelligence, and commerce.

According to Lenskart, this direct UPI integration ensures both speed and security, making it as safe as traditional UPI apps.

Peyush Bansal on integrating payments into eyewear

Speaking at the event, Peyush Bansal, Chairman, CEO and Cofounder of Lenskart, said:

“The role and use of smart glasses in our lives will continue to evolve, and payments are an important part of our daily activity. By integrating payments into the camera of smart glasses, we intend to make this a seamless form of payments.”

Launch expected soon

The company plans to roll out the B Camera Smartglasses over the next few months. With the ability to make direct payments, they could be among the first wearable devices in India to feature native UPI support.

This move aligns with India’s growing digital payments ecosystem, where UPI has already crossed billions of transactions every month.
