A New Laptop Idea from Lenovo
Lenovo has once again grabbed attention with a fresh laptop concept. At IFA 2025 in Berlin, the company introduced the ThinkBook VertiFlex. This concept device features a display that can swivel from the usual landscape mode to portrait orientation.
How the VertiFlex Design Works?
At first glance, the ThinkBook VertiFlex looks like a regular 14-inch laptop. However, a closer look reveals a layered design. Users can manually push the screen’s edge upward to rotate it into vertical mode with ease. A felt backing helps protect the mechanism, while the design keeps the system slim at 17.9 mm and around 3 pounds, making it lightweight and portable for both work and travel.
Why Vertical Screens Matter?
Vertical screens are useful for apps that need more height. Email, Slack, word processors, and PDF viewers benefit from this setup. The VertiFlex allows switching between orientations instantly, making it practical for work and entertainment without delays.
From Concept to Possible Product
Lenovo calls the VertiFlex a concept for now. However, the company has previously launched concept laptops commercially, including the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable. Since this design does not rely on expensive foldable displays, its price could be more accessible.
Other Lenovo Concepts at IFA 2025
Alongside the VertiFlex, Lenovo also showed the Smart Motion Concept. This motorized laptop stand uses face tracking or gestures to adjust screen position and double as a docking station.
Additional Launches From Lenovo
The company also expanded its portfolio with new products. These included the Yoga Tab and Idea Tab Plus, Lenovo’s first LOQ Tower 26ADR10 gaming PC, and the Legion Pro 32UD-10 4K OLED monitor. Lenovo also revealed pricing for the Legion Go 2 handheld, starting at $1,049 with sales beginning in October.
