iPhones Will Soon Let Users Run Multiple WhatsApp Accounts

iPhone users finally get multi-account support

iPhone users will soon be able to run multiple WhatsApp accounts on one device. This long-requested option is now showing up in a new TestFlight beta. For years, iPhone owners relied on workarounds or the WhatsApp Business app to manage two numbers. However, the native feature is now taking shape and moving closer to rollout.

A new iOS menu will handle account switching

The latest beta reveals a new “Account List” section inside iOS settings for WhatsApp. Testers report that the menu allows adding a second account directly from the app. Apple users will also see a shortcut next to the QR code icon for quick switching. This will make dual-number use straightforward for the first time on an iPhone.

Two accounts with separate data and smooth sync

The upcoming update will support two accounts initially. iPhone users will be able to add a new number, link an existing WhatsApp profile, or connect a companion account through a QR code. After pairing, chats and preferences will sync instantly. Each WhatsApp account on the iPhone will maintain its own backup configuration, chat history, and notification tones. Therefore, personal and work data will remain cleanly separated.

Notifications will show which account received the message

WhatsApp will also label incoming alerts with the correct profile name. This small detail will help iPhone users avoid confusion when juggling multiple conversations across accounts.

A broader rollout for iPhones may arrive soon

There is no release date yet. But the feature’s entry into the public beta suggests that native multi-account support for iPhone is not far away. With more flexibility and smoother switching, iPhones will soon offer a much easier way to manage two WhatsApp identities on one device.
