AI News Summaries Make a Cautious Comeback
One major change in iOS 26 beta 4 is the return of AI-generated news summaries in notifications. This feature, paused earlier this year after a high-profile error involving a BBC headline, now includes a warning screen.
The message notes that “Summarization may change the meaning of original headlines” and advises users to verify information. The feature is still in beta, but it shows Apple’s intent to proceed carefully with AI-powered experiences.
