HP has introduced a bold idea at CES 2026. Instead of shrinking desktops or refining laptops, the company has placed a full AI-powered PC inside a keyboard. The new HP EliteBoard G1a targets professionals who now work across locations and need flexible setups. With this launch, HP clearly signals that the desk itself is evolving.

At the same time, HP also unveiled the Series 7 Pro 4K Monitor, designed to complement this new form factor. Together, the products highlight how workspaces are becoming modular, mobile, and less dependent on fixed hardware.

HP EliteBoard G1a Redefines the Desktop Experience

Work habits continue to change. As a result, many professionals no longer rely on a single desk or screen. HP addresses this shift by reimagining what a desktop PC looks like. The EliteBoard G1a integrates the entire computing system into a slim keyboard, allowing users to connect to any display and work from almost anywhere.

Moreover, the device measures just 12 mm in thickness and weighs around 750 grams. Because of this compact design, users can carry desktop-level computing power between offices, meeting rooms, or shared spaces without effort. HP also includes built-in microphones and speakers, which makes the keyboard PC ready for collaboration right out of the box.

Local AI Performance Moves With You

While the form factor stands out, the performance also matters. Therefore, HP powers the EliteBoard G1a with AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors. The system delivers over 50 TOPS of NPU performance, enabling AI workloads to run locally instead of relying on cloud processing.

As a result, AI features respond faster and remain available even without constant internet access. Meanwhile, HP Smart Sense and AMD Auto State Management dynamically adjust power, cooling, and performance. This ensures a smooth experience across different work environments. In addition, an optional built-in battery allows limited untethered use when needed.

Security Designed for the AI Era

Security remains critical as AI workflows expand. For this reason, HP integrates Wolf Security for Business directly into the EliteBoard G1a. The system protects firmware, data, and AI processes at the hardware level.

Importantly, HP says this approach also prepares devices for emerging threats, including those linked to quantum computing. Furthermore, physical security options such as tethered locking support shared and open workspaces.

HP Series 7 Pro 4K Monitor Completes the Setup

While the EliteBoard G1a changes how computing fits on the desk, the HP Series 7 Pro 4K Monitor upgrades the visual experience. HP uses Neo:LED technology and IPS Black panels to improve contrast, brightness, and color accuracy.

At the same time, the monitor supports 140W Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, which allows power, data, and display through a single cable. Consequently, users can build cleaner and more flexible desk setups that support multiple devices.

Availability and What Comes Next

HP plans to launch the EliteBoard G1a and the Series 7 Pro 4K Monitor globally in March 2026. Pricing details will follow closer to availability. For now, HP’s keyboard-based AI PC offers a clear glimpse into how future desks may look.
