Even G2 Smart Glasses Bring a Floating Spatial Display and Smarter Controls
Even Realities is pushing its smart eyewear vision further with the launch of the Even G2 smart glasses. The new model refines the company’s display technology and introduces a unique floating “spatial” viewing experience that separates it from the growing crowd of AI-driven wearables.
A Refined Approach in a Crowded Market
While most competitors such as Meta’s Ray-Ban or Xreal Air 2 focus on camera-based augmented reality and audio integration, Even Realities continues to take a minimalist approach. The Even G2 smart glasses come without cameras or speakers. Instead, the company has doubled down on visual clarity and usability.
This decision helps the G2s appeal to privacy-conscious users and those who want wearable displays without constant recording or intrusive sound. It’s a quieter, more focused alternative to the multi-sensor spectacles dominating the market.
The “Floating Spatial Display” Experience
At the heart of the upgrade is Even Realities’ new HAO 2.0 optics engine, a significant evolution from the first-gen model. It uses micro-LED projectors embedded directly into the lenses, paired with gradient waveguides to project visuals with remarkable sharpness.
The company describes this as a “floating spatial display”, where information appears in multiple visual layers. Notifications and AI insights float in the foreground, while deeper layers display content like navigation cues or contextual prompts.
This layered projection allows users to perceive information as if it exists at different depths in space, creating an almost 3D visual experience. Unlike full AR devices, this system prioritizes readability and contextual clarity over immersion, offering practicality for daily use.
Hardware That Balances Design and Comfort
Even Realities has kept its design language sleek and understated. Despite the enhanced visual engine, the G2s maintain a light frame with improved battery performance. Users can interact through capacitive touch controls built into the arms or opt for the new R1 control ring.
The R1 ring, made of ceramic and stainless steel, brings a new level of convenience. It allows gesture-based control over the G2 glasses and also functions as a smart wellness accessory, tracking basic insights such as movement and activity. The addition of this accessory underlines Even Realities’ focus on seamless, non-intrusive tech integration.
Smarter Software and the New Even Hub
Even Realities says the software experience has received a major overhaul. A faster AI model now powers interactions, offering quicker prompts and better contextual understanding. Updated apps and widgets enhance usability, and the company plans to launch the Even Hub — a space for developers to add third-party widgets directly through the app.
This addition could give the G2s a richer ecosystem, something the original G1 lacked. It allows customization without replacing the main interface, keeping the experience fluid and consistent.
Pricing and Availability
The Even G2 smart glasses are available now for $599. The new R1 ring is priced at $249. Existing Even G1 users will receive a free R1 smart ring when they upgrade to the G2.
