Amazon unveils new Echo devices built for Alexa+
Amazon has announced a new lineup of Echo devices designed to deliver next-generation Alexa+ experiences. The launch introduces four products: Echo Dot Max, Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11. These devices are built with custom AI silicon, advanced sensor fusion, and premium sound to make Alexa+ smarter, faster, and more personalized.
Alexa+ Early Access out of the box
Every new Echo device will ship with Alexa+ Early Access. The updated assistant is more conversational and proactive, helping with daily tasks, smart home control, and entertainment. According to Amazon, customers already using Alexa+ interact with it more than twice as often.
Custom AI silicon for smarter Echo
At the heart of the new devices are Amazon’s custom AZ3 and AZ3 Pro processors. These chips feature an AI Accelerator that runs advanced edge models directly on the device. Echo Dot Max uses the AZ3 chip, which improves voice detection and wake-word recognition by over 50%. The Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11 use the more advanced AZ3 Pro, which supports state-of-the-art AI models for better conversations and visual understanding.
Omnisense sensor fusion powers ambient AI
Amazon also introduced Omnisense, a sensor platform that combines audio, ultrasound, Wi-Fi radar, accelerometer, and camera inputs. This system enables Alexa to act more intelligently in real time. For example, Alexa can remind you when someone specific enters a room or send a proactive alert if the garage door is left open at night.
Echo Dot Max—Redesigned with powerful sound
The Echo Dot Max is the most advanced Echo Dot yet. It features a two-way speaker system with a high-excursion woofer and a custom tweeter, delivering almost three times the bass compared to the previous generation. Amazon redesigned the sound system to eliminate separate speaker modules, creating more air space for fuller audio. Priced at $99.99, the Dot Max combines powerful sound with advanced sensing features.
Echo Studio—Premium sound in a smaller size
Echo Studio now comes in a 40% smaller design without compromising on sound. It uses a high-excursion woofer and three full-range drivers for immersive, room-filling audio. Supporting Dolby Atmos and spatial audio, the new Studio creates a surround sound experience from a compact form factor. The spherical design and 3D-knit fabric also enhance acoustic performance. Echo Studio will be available at $219.99.
Echo Show 8 and 11—Smart displays with new design
Amazon’s new smart displays, Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11, are purpose-built for Alexa+. They feature in-cell touch displays with improved clarity and adaptive visuals. The 13-megapixel camera allows Alexa to recognize when you walk up and display personalized information. The devices also feature new stereo speakers and a custom woofer for rich sound.
The Echo Show 8 will cost $179.99, while the Echo Show 11 will retail for $219.99.
Smarter experiences with Alexa+
The Echo Show devices are integrated with Alexa+ to support entertainment, smart home control, family organization, shopping, and health features. A new media control center makes browsing music and podcasts easier. Built-in smart home hubs support Zigbee, Matter, and Thread standards for seamless device management.
Alexa+ also adds new shopping tools, helping customers track Amazon and Whole Foods deliveries, reorder essentials, or find gift suggestions. For health, Alexa+ integrates with Oura and will soon expand to Withings and Wyze to provide personalized wellness insights.
Alexa+ Store expands ecosystem
Amazon also announced the Alexa+ Store, a central hub for enabling services and devices. Customers will be able to explore integrations with TaskRabbit, Uber, Lyft, Priceline, GrubHub, and many more. Alexa+ will also expand to third-party devices from companies like Bose, Sonos, LG, Samsung, and BMW.

Pre-orders for all four new Echo devices are now live in the U.S. The Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio will launch on October 29, while the Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 will be available from November 12. Each purchase includes Alexa+ Early Access.
