Display size and brightness are key differentiators.
The Poco X8 Pro Max 5G features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness up to 3,500 nits, and 3,840Hz PWM dimming. The Poco X8 Pro 5G uses a slightly smaller 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with the same refresh rate and resolution standards.
Both phones carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, placing durability front and center.
Performance and hardware: What’s inside?
The Pro Max model is powered by a 3nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. It also features an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
The standard Poco X8 Pro 5G runs on a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra SoC with up to 12GB LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage.
Both devices use Poco’s 3D Ice Loop cooling system, with larger heat dissipation on the Pro Max.
Camera setup: What do you get?
The Poco X8 Pro Series sticks to a dual-camera setup.
Both phones feature a 50-megapixel primary rear camera with optical image stabilization and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera offering a 120-degree field of view. On the front is a 20-megapixel selfie camera.
Video recording goes up to 4K at 60fps on both rear and front cameras.
Battery and charging: The biggest talking point
Battery capacity is where the series stands out.
The Poco X8 Pro Max 5G packs a 9,000mAh battery, while the Poco X8 Pro 5G includes a 6,500mAh unit. Both support 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging.
According to Poco, the Pro Max can deliver over three days of moderate use, up to 18 days of standby, or roughly 30 hours of online video playback on a single charge.
Why the Poco X8 Pro Series matters
With the Poco X8 Pro Series, Poco is doubling down on endurance-focused smartphones without stripping away performance, display quality, or fast charging. The combination of large batteries, modern MediaTek chipsets, and aggressive pricing sets the series up as a strong contender in India’s crowded upper mid-range market.
As sales begin, the Poco X8 Pro Series will test how much Indian buyers value battery life when paired with near-flagship hardware.
