OnePlus Not Dismantled, India Operations Remain Normal

What is happening at OnePlus

OnePlus has denied claims suggesting that the brand is being internally dismantled. The clarification comes after reports alleged that the company was facing deep restructuring within its parent ecosystem. Since India is one of OnePlus’ biggest markets, any uncertainty around its future directly impacts consumers, partners, and the premium smartphone segment.

In a public response, the company stated that its operations in the country are running normally and are not being dismantled. The company also dismissed speculation about an imminent shutdown or exit from the Indian market.

Where did the dismantling claims come from

According to reports published by international tech publications, OnePlus has seen a steady decline in smartphone shipments, especially in India and China. Together, these two regions reportedly contribute nearly three-fourths of the brand’s global volume.

The report further claimed that shrinking market share and reduced internal influence may have triggered restructuring talks. As a result, OnePlus was said to be losing independence within Oppo, its parent company’s broader organisation.

Cancelled launches raise fresh questions

Adding fuel to speculation, several devices were reportedly shelved. These include the foldable OnePlus Open 2 and the sub-flagship OnePlus 15s. While OnePlus has not officially confirmed these cancellations, their absence from recent product roadmaps has raised eyebrows.

Despite Oppo investing heavily in retail expansion and service infrastructure over the past few years, reports suggest that the brand has struggled to regain earlier momentum. However, no official statement has confirmed that these changes are part of a larger wind-down plan.

What the Company officially said

Responding to the rumours, OnePlus India leadership moved quickly to reassure users. OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu stated that the company is operating as usual and will continue to serve Indian customers without disruption.

Separately, the company also told Android-focused media outlets that its India business remains stable. For now, there is no confirmation of layoffs, shutdowns, or brand absorption in India.
