Poco M8 Pro 5G launched globally with Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and 100W charging

Poco has officially taken the wraps off the Poco M8 Pro 5G in select global markets. With this launch, the brand clearly targets users who want strong performance, fast charging, and a large display in one package. While Poco has introduced the standard Poco M8 5G in India, the Pro variant has not yet made its way to the country.

The phone starts at $299 (around Rs. 26,900) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The higher 12GB + 512GB option is priced at $359 (around Rs. 32,300). As part of early bird offers, Poco is offering discounted prices, bringing the starting cost down to $279. Poco has not yet confirmed an India launch timeline for the Pro model.

Display and performance

The phone features a large 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection adds durability on the front.

Under the hood, the phone runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It ships with Android 15-based HyperOS 2, promising smoother performance and improved system optimisation.

Camera setup

On the camera front, the Poco M8 Pro 5G uses a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 800 sensor with optical image stabilisation. It is supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. For selfies and video calls, the device offers a 32-megapixel front camera.

Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio support enhance the multimedia experience.

Battery, charging, and durability

The smartphone packs a 6,500mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging. It also offers 22.5W reverse wired charging, allowing it to power other devices.

Poco claims the phone meets IP66, IP69, and IP69K certifications, offering resistance against dust, water, and high-pressure conditions.
