Xreal Unveils the 1S AR Glasses at CES 2026

Xreal has officially unveiled the Xreal 1S, an updated version of its entry-level AR glasses, at CES 2026. This time, the company focuses on refining the experience rather than reinventing the product. As a result, users get better hardware while paying less.

At $449, the Xreal 1S undercuts last year’s pricing by $50. That move clearly signals Xreal’s intent to make AR displays more approachable for everyday users.

What Has Changed in the Xreal 1S

At first glance, the Xreal 1S looks similar to earlier models. However, several key upgrades improve daily use. The resolution increases to 1200p Full HD, delivering sharper visuals. Meanwhile, brightness rises to 700 nits, which helps in brighter environments.

In addition, the field of view expands to 52 degrees, offering a slightly more immersive screen. Xreal also switches to a 16:10 aspect ratio, making the glasses better suited for work and streaming. Even though the refresh rate remains at 120Hz, motion continues to feel smooth and responsive.

Beyond the display, Xreal reinforces the USB-C port and includes a new travel case. These changes aim to improve durability and portability.

How Built-In 3D Video Conversion Works

One of the most notable additions is Real 3D, powered by Xreal’s X1 spatial computing chip. With this feature, the glasses can convert standard 2D videos into 3D in real time. Importantly, users do not need extra apps, software, or special media players.

Instead, viewers can open platforms like YouTube or Netflix and enable the setting directly. Consequently, 3D viewing becomes far more accessible. Xreal has also confirmed that this feature will arrive on the One Pro through a software update.

Who the Xreal 1S Is Meant For

Rather than competing with full VR headsets, Xreal positions the 1S as a lightweight alternative. These glasses project a large private screen while remaining compact and wearable. Therefore, they appeal to users who want immersive video, casual gaming, or a secondary display.

Additionally, the optional detachable Eye camera allows POV photos and video capture, expanding its use cases without forcing it on every buyer.
