Samsung Freestyle+ Brings Smarter AI to Portable Screens

Key Highlights:

  • Global rollout planned for H1 2026
  • New AI OptiScreen enables instant, hands-free setup
  • Nearly double brightness over the previous model
  • Built-in streaming, gaming, and 360-degree sound

Samsung has officially unveiled the Samsung Freestyle+, its latest AI-powered portable projector, ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas. The launch signals Samsung’s push toward smarter, adaptive screens designed for flexible living spaces.

Building on the original Freestyle’s cylindrical design, the new model focuses on intelligent automation, better brightness, and a more seamless entertainment experience across rooms and environments.

Smarter AI Makes Setup Effortless

At the heart of the Samsung Freestyle+ is AI OptiScreen, an AI-driven system that automatically adjusts the projected image to suit different surfaces and spaces. Users can simply place the projector and start watching without manual tuning.

The system handles keystone correction, focus adjustments, and screen alignment in real time. It also calibrates colors based on the wall or surface, reducing visual distractions. This makes the Samsung Freestyle+ usable on walls, curtains, corners, or angled spaces.

Vision AI Companion Brings Conversational Control

Samsung has paired AI OptiScreen with Vision AI Companion, its personalized AI platform for screens. The system integrates enhanced Bixby with third-party AI services.

This allows users to interact with content more naturally, search shows faster, and control playback through conversational commands. The goal is to reduce friction between the viewer and the screen.

Brighter, Lighter, and Easy to Move

The Samsung Freestyle+ delivers 430 ISO Lumens, nearly doubling the brightness of the previous generation. This helps content remain clear in everyday lighting conditions.

Its compact, lightweight design makes it easy to move between rooms or carry outdoors. The 180-degree rotating body supports projection on walls, floors, or ceilings without additional mounts.

Built-In Streaming, Gaming, and Immersive Sound

The Freestyle+ works as a standalone entertainment device. It offers direct access to Samsung TV Plus, certified OTT platforms, and Samsung Gaming Hub. Users do not need external streaming devices or consoles.

For audio, the projector includes a built-in 360-degree speaker designed to fill the room with sound. It also supports Q-Symphony, allowing it to sync with compatible Samsung soundbars.

CES 2026 Showcase and Global Availability

Samsung will present the Freestyle+ at CES 2026 from January 6 to 9 in Las Vegas. A phased global rollout is planned for the first half of 2026.
