LinkedIn members now add nearly 30 million verifications every year. Adoption has jumped 38% year-over-year, showing how fast professionals are embracing verification as a credibility marker.

The momentum follows LinkedIn’s recent milestone: over 100 million users have added at least one verification to their profile.

India Emerges as the Fastest-Growing Market

While the United States still holds the largest share of verified users, India is leading growth. According to LinkedIn, verification adoption in India has surged around 80% in the past 12 months, making it the platform’s fastest-growing verification market.

India already hosts more than 160 million LinkedIn users. As hiring, remote work, and professional networking scale rapidly, verification is becoming a key trust layer for recruiters and job seekers alike.

This shift signals how India’s workforce is increasingly shaping LinkedIn’s global usage patterns.

Workplace Verification Dominates Profiles

Most users prefer to verify where they work rather than who they are. Around 60% of verified members confirm their workplace using a company email address or internal credentials.

Meanwhile, about 27% of users opt for identity verification using a government-issued ID. This split highlights a practical trend: professionals want faster trust signals without friction.

LinkedIn first introduced verification in 2022 and has since expanded it to company pages and job listings.

Verification Moves Beyond Platform

LinkedIn is now taking verification outside its own platform. Earlier this year, it launched the “Verified on LinkedIn” program, allowing partner services to display its verification badge.

Zoom recently joined the list, alongside Adobe and G2. LinkedIn has also rolled out a self-serve API, making verification easier to integrate across third-party platforms.

Verified Profiles See Higher Engagement

Verification is not just about safety. LinkedIn says verified members get up to 60% more profile views and nearly 50% more engagement on posts.

Verified company pages also attract stronger visibility, with higher follower growth and views. As trust becomes currency, verification is clearly influencing how professionals are discovered online.
