Truecaller Voicemail Makes Missed Calls Smarter With Instant Transcriptions
Truecaller has rolled out a free voicemail feature for Android users in India, making missed calls smarter and easier to manage. This new tool records voice messages, stores them directly on the phone, and transcribes them into text using AI-powered technology.
How the Voicemail Feature Works
When you miss a call, the caller can leave a voice message. Truecaller saves the recording, then quickly converts it into text so you can read it without listening. This helps users decide whether to respond immediately or later.
To access voicemail, users must enable call forwarding on their number and update to the latest version of the Truecaller app. Once activated, all messages and transcriptions appear in the dedicated Voicemail tab.
Multilingual Support for Indian Users
Truecaller’s AI transcription supports 12 regional languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Nepali, Punjabi, Sanskrit, and Urdu. This ensures that users across India can read messages in their preferred language.
Privacy, Control, and Spam Filtering
Truecaller stores messages directly on the user’s device, offering full privacy over recordings. The voicemail also features smart call categorisation, spam filtering, and playback speed adjustment for easy listening.
Premium Users Get More
While voicemail is free for everyone in India, Truecaller Premium users can access an upgraded Truecaller Assistant. This AI assistant answers calls, interacts with callers, and offers personalised greetings with advanced call-handling capabilities.
