Sony WH-1000XM6 Launched in India with AI Noise Cancellation at ₹39,990

Sony WH-1000XM6 Launched in India

Sony has introduced its flagship WH-1000XM6 noise cancellation headphones in India, priced at ₹39,990. The premium model succeeds the WH-1000XM5, which was launched in 2022, and brings a series of new AI-driven upgrades.

AI-Powered Noise Cancellation

The Sony WH-1000XM6 uses a combination of 12 microphones and the QN3 processor for noise cancellation. It also introduces AI noise reduction and AI beamforming microphones, a first for Sony headphones. This makes voice clarity sharper even in noisy environments.

Smarter Sound with 360 Spatial Audio

The headphones come with 360 Spatial Audio support and DSEE Extreme, which uses Deep Neural Network technology. The system analyses music in real time, adjusting between vocals and percussion upscaling. Sony says this ensures natural sound quality and a more immersive listening experience.

More Control with Equaliser and Focus Mode

The WH-1000XM6 now includes a 10-band equaliser, upgraded from the previous 5-band system. A new Background Music effect has also been added to help users stay focused, particularly while working or studying.

Dual Connectivity and Quick Pairing

The new model supports dual Bluetooth connections, allowing users to pair two devices at the same time. With Swift Pair support for Windows devices, switching connections becomes seamless.

Touch, Buttons, and Gestures

Unlike earlier models, the WH-1000XM6 combines touch and button controls for power and ANC. It can also recognise head gestures to accept or reject calls, adding more flexibility to user interactions.

Long Battery Life with Charging Support

Battery life remains strong, with up to 30 hours of playback on ANC and 40 hours without it. A key update is that the headphones can now be used even while charging, a limitation in the older version.
