How To Use Perplexity’s AI Browser Comet in India?

Available to Perplexity Pro Subscribers

Perplexity AI has launched its Comet browser in India for Pro subscribers. The AI-powered browser, first introduced in July 2025, is available for Mac and Windows users. Android users can pre-order it on the Google Play Store. However, the company has not shared a mobile release date.

Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, said Comet is built on the company’s AI search engine. It is designed to make research and online work more efficient.

A Workspace Instead of Tabs

Unlike Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, Comet does not rely on multiple tabs. Instead, it provides a workspace that keeps all activities in one view. This reduces the need to switch between windows.

Comet also includes the Comet Assistant, an AI agent that automates tasks. It can summarise emails, review calendars, and even browse web pages for users. The browser learns what users are reading or searching and suggests related content.

AI Sidebar for Daily Tasks

The AI sidebar acts as an interactive assistant. Users can type instructions to shop online, draft emails, or schedule meetings. Perplexity plans to add more features to this sidebar in future updates.

How to Use Comet?

Using Comet is simple:

  • Download and install Comet on Mac or Windows from Perplexity’s official site.
  • Log in with a Pro account to activate AI-powered features.
  • Set up your workspace where Comet organises browsing history, searches, and tasks in one view.
  • Use Comet Assistant to automate actions such as summarising documents, managing schedules, or drafting messages.
  • Try the AI sidebar by entering commands like “convert this page into an email” or “schedule a meeting.”
  • Stay synced as Comet tracks your reading and searching patterns to recommend useful content.

Android users can pre-order Comet from the Google Play Store and receive updates when it launches.

Email Assistant for Inbox Management

Along with this, Perplexity has launched the Email Assistant for Max plan subscribers. The tool supports Gmail and Outlook. It can compose responses, prioritise emails, and arrange meetings automatically. The subscription costs $200 per month.

Privacy and Security Focus

Perplexity stressed that data privacy remains a priority. The Email Assistant does not use personal email data to train AI models. Instead, it mirrors a user’s writing tone while keeping information confidential.

Building An AI Ecosystem

The arrival of Comet in India and launch of Email Assistant shows Perplexity’s push toward an integrated AI ecosystem. Comet streamlines browsing and tasks, while Email Assistant reduces the workload of inbox management. Together, these tools show how AI can reshape productivity for everyday users.
