Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 Series Launch With Gemini AI

Galaxy Z Fold 7 Gets Slimmer, Drops S-Pen Support

Samsung’s latest foldables bring design refinements, deeper Google AI integration, and more accessibility — but also a few surprises.

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7, its thinnest and lightest Fold yet. The phone now measures 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when open, weighing just 215g. This is a noticeable trim from the Fold 6.

The cover screen grows wider at 6.5 inches with a 21:9 aspect ratio. The main display stretches to 8 inches — an 11% increase over the previous generation. But in pursuit of thinness, Samsung has removed the S-Pen support. The Fold 7 lacks the digitizer layer, which is essential for stylus input. This marks a major shift from the Fold 6.

Power Boost With Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy

Samsung equips the Fold 7 with the custom Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. It delivers better CPU, GPU, and NPU performance over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 used in Fold 6.

The device also features a massive camera upgrade. It introduces a new 200MP wide-angle sensor, up from 50MP on its predecessor. These upgrades aim to power the phone’s AI features while improving imaging.

Flip 7 Gets Bigger FlexWindow and Larger Battery

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 refines the clamshell foldable experience. The new FlexWindow now measures 4.1 inches, up from 3.4 inches. It spans edge to edge, letting users reply to messages, check widgets, or run AI tools without opening the device.

It’s also Samsung’s slimmest Flip yet at 13.7mm when folded. A larger 4,300mAh battery now powers the Flip 7, which is an improvement from the 4,000mAh in Flip 6.

Flip 7 FE Makes Foldables More Accessible

Samsung also launched the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, a budget-friendly model aimed at wider adoption. It features a 6.7-inch main screen and a 50MP FlexCam.

While it looks similar to the premium Flip 7, it ships with modest specs — a 4,000mAh battery and storage options of 128GB or 256GB. It opens the foldable segment to new users with a price tag of ₹89,999.

Gemini AI Comes Built-In with One UI 8

The Fold 7 and Flip 7 series ship with One UI 8 based on Android 16. The biggest highlight is deep integration with Google’s Gemini AI.

A standout feature is Gemini Live, which lets users issue voice commands hands-free — even on the Flip 7’s cover screen. Whether it’s checking flight info or booking a table, the AI handles it.

Other features include real-time camera sharing, Photo Assist, and Audio Eraser, which all benefit from on-device AI power.

Pricing in India

  • Galaxy Z Fold 7: ₹1,74,999
  • Galaxy Z Flip 7: ₹1,09,999

Samsung’s 2025 foldables focus on sleek form and smarter features, though longtime fans may question the missing S-Pen on the Fold 7.
