Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 To Come With Snapdragon 8 Elite, Bigger Cover Screen
Xiaomi is all set to unveil the Mix Flip 2 later this week in China. The company has started dropping teasers that reveal the foldable’s sleek design and some key specifications. This new clamshell device is the successor to last year’s Mix Flip.
Refined Design and New Colour Options
Xiaomi’s teasers confirm that the Mix Flip 2 will keep a similar design language as the original. The foldable will be available in four colour choices — black, gold, green, and purple. The names of these finishes will be revealed at launch.
The Mix Flip 2 will feature a 4.01-inch outer screen with a bright 3,200 nits display. According to Xiaomi, over 500 apps will be supported on this cover screen, making it more useful than before. The inner display will measure 6.86 inches, giving users a large screen in a compact form.
Snapdragon 8 Elite, Android 15 and More
Under the hood, the phone will run on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Xiaomi has also confirmed the foldable will run Android 15 out of the box. It was recently spotted on Geekbench with 10.86GB of RAM, scoring 3,099 in single-core and 9,583 in multi-core tests.
This chipset has two performance cores clocked at 4.32GHz and six more running at 3.53GHz, ensuring smooth multitasking and gaming performance.
Larger Battery, Faster Charging
Another big upgrade is in the battery department. The Mix Flip 2 will house a 5,165mAh battery, up from 4,780mAh on its predecessor. It will also support 50W wireless charging. With this setup, Xiaomi promises longer usage on a single charge.
Durability and Camera Setup
Durability seems to be a focus this year. The new hinge mechanism is claimed to last over 200,000 folds. The phone will feature a metal mid-frame, and despite the upgrades, it will still weigh only 199 grams and be 7.57mm thick when folded.
On the camera front, Xiaomi has partnered with Leica again. The Mix Flip 2 will carry a dual rear camera setup, co-engineered with Leica for better imaging quality. More details are likely to surface during the event.
Official Reveal on June 26 in China
Xiaomi will officially unveil the Mix Flip 2 on June 26. Alongside it, the company will also launch other devices — Redmi K80 Ultra, Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro, Redmi K Pad, and Xiaomi YU7. The Mix Flip 2 is expected to take on Samsung’s upcoming Z Flip model and Motorola’s next Razr.
The foldable phone space is getting increasingly competitive, and Xiaomi seems ready to push the bar higher with its second-gen clamshell.
