Anthropic has introduced Claude Personal Finance, an AI-powered tool designed to help people manage their money. Integrated into the Claude chatbot, it can analyse connected financial accounts and turn transactions into useful insights. The goal is to make everyday money management easier without switching between banking apps and spreadsheets.

Claude Personal Finance is rolling out in beta to Pro, Max and Ultra subscribers in the US. Users can connect bank and card accounts to get a clearer view of their spending. Anthropic says the tool only has read-only access to financial information.

How Claude Personal Finance can help

Claude Personal Finance works like a conversational finance assistant. After connecting eligible accounts, users can ask questions about their transactions in everyday language. For example, they can ask how much they spent last month or which categories account for the biggest share of their expenses.

The tool can organise transactions into categories and generate monthly spending charts. These visuals can help users spot patterns across areas such as food, transport, shopping and recurring bills. Instead of reviewing every transaction manually, users can ask Claude to summarise the information.

Track bills, understand financial terms and plan budgets

The tool can also create a calendar of scheduled payments. This can help users keep track of upcoming bills and payment dates. A personalised dashboard lets users choose the financial figures and insights they want to see.

Claude can explain unfamiliar financial terms in simple language. Users can ask it to clarify concepts that often appear in banking, credit and investment discussions. This may help people understand financial information without searching for separate explanations.

Users can also request changes to charts and dashboard views. They can use the insights to review spending patterns and think through a budget. However, Claude provides information and analysis. It does not replace a qualified financial adviser or make financial decisions for users.

Does Claude Personal Finance have access to your money?

No. Anthropic says Claude Personal Finance has read-only access to connected financial accounts. It cannot transfer money, make payments, manage accounts autonomously or invest on a user’s behalf. Users can review insights, but they remain in control of financial actions.

Anthropic has also said the feature will not show ads or sponsored financial recommendations. That means Claude will not promote credit cards, loans or savings accounts through sponsored placements within the tool.

Claude Personal Finance availability

Claude Personal Finance is currently rolling out in beta to Pro, Max and Ultra subscribers in the US. Anthropic has not announced a wider international rollout timeline. Users in India and other markets will have to wait for further availability details.

The launch adds another use case to the growing overlap between AI assistants and financial services. Google has also added AI-powered portfolio tools to its Google Finance app. However, users should still verify important figures and avoid treating AI-generated insights as personalised financial advice.

Anthropic has outlined the feature in its official Claude Personal Finance announcement.
