Apple has launched the 14-inch MacBook Pro (2026) in India, introducing an OLED display and its new M6 chip. The premium laptop starts at ₹2,39,900 for the base configuration with 16GB of unified memory and 1TB of storage.

The new MacBook Pro is Apple’s first laptop in the lineup to feature an OLED display. It also introduces a processor built using a 2nm manufacturing process, alongside upgrades to AI processing, graphics performance and connectivity.

Pre-orders are now open in India. The laptop will go on sale on November 6 through the Apple India online store.

MacBook Pro M6 price in India and availability

The base 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip costs ₹2,39,900. Buyers can upgrade the unified memory to 24GB for an additional ₹24,000 or choose 32GB for ₹48,000 more.

Apple also offers storage upgrades. The 2TB configuration costs an additional ₹60,000, while the 4TB option adds ₹1,80,000 to the base price. Buyers who want the optional nano-texture display must pay another ₹18,000.

The laptop comes in Space Black and Silver colour options. Its price places it firmly in the premium laptop segment, targeting professionals who need high performance for demanding workloads.

OLED display brings higher brightness and smoother visuals

The new MacBook Pro features a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 3,024 × 1,964 pixels. It supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz through Apple’s ProMotion technology.

The display offers peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits, True Tone and P3 wide colour support. It can display one billion colours, making it suitable for photo editing, video production and other colour-sensitive work.

For users, OLED technology can deliver deeper blacks and stronger contrast by controlling light at the pixel level. The 120Hz refresh rate can also make scrolling, animations and supported creative workflows feel smoother.

Apple offers an optional nano-texture finish that reduces glare. This may benefit people who frequently work in bright environments, although it comes at an additional cost.

Apple M6 chip brings 2nm architecture and faster AI processing

The MacBook Pro M6 is powered by a 12-core CPU featuring two Super Cores, four performance cores and six efficiency cores. Apple says the chip uses a 2nm manufacturing process and includes a dual 16-core Neural Engine.

According to Apple, the M6 delivers up to twice the peak compute performance of the M5. The company also claims up to 13 times faster first-token performance for large language model prompt processing compared with the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 chip.

Apple cites further gains in professional workloads. These include up to 11.7 times faster ray-tracing performance in Blender, up to 3.3 times faster image processing in Affinity and up to 2.5 times faster project builds in Xcode, all compared with the specified M1-based MacBook Pro.

These are Apple’s performance claims, and the results may vary depending on the workload and software. Still, the upgrades could benefit developers, creative professionals and users who regularly run demanding applications.

Battery life, ports and other features

Apple claims up to 24 hours of video streaming or 16 hours of wireless web browsing on a single charge. The laptop packs a 72.4Wh battery and supports wired fast charging at up to 96W.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Apple’s N1 networking chip. The laptop also has three Thunderbolt 4 ports, MagSafe 3, HDMI, an SDXC card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Other features include a 12-megapixel Center Stage webcam and Apple’s backlit Magic Keyboard. The laptop measures 312.6 × 221.2 × 15.5mm and weighs approximately 1.55kg.

With its OLED screen and new M6 processor, the MacBook Pro targets users who need a powerful laptop for creative work, development and AI-assisted tasks. However, buyers should compare the memory and storage upgrades carefully, as higher configurations can significantly increase the final price.
