Sony has expanded its ULT Power Sound lineup in India with three new party speakers. The second-generation ULT Tower 5, ULT Tower 7 and ULT Tower Max target both indoor and outdoor entertainment.
The lineup starts at ₹32,990 and goes up to ₹1,39,990 for the flagship model. Sony is also adding upgraded lighting, karaoke controls and DJ-focused features across the range.
The ULT Tower Max sits at the top of the lineup with a claimed 2,150W rated output.
Sony ULT Tower 5, Tower 7 and Tower Max price
The Sony ULT Tower 5 is priced at ₹32,990 in India. Meanwhile, the ULT Tower 7 costs ₹49,990.
Both models will go on sale from October 8 through Sony retail stores and Amazon.
The flagship Sony ULT Tower Max is priced at ₹1,39,990. It will be available from November 15 through the same channels.
Sony is also offering launch benefits across the lineup. Buyers of the ULT Tower Max will receive a dual wireless microphone worth ₹19,990 and cashback of up to ₹15,000.
The ULT Tower 7 gets ₹4,999 cashback, while the ULT Tower 5 gets ₹3,000 cashback.
ULT Tower 5 and Tower 7 focus on portable party audio
The ULT Tower 5 produces 300W of sound output. It uses a 230mm woofer with ULT DUCT technology and two tweeters.
The ULT Tower 7 increases the output to 420W. It features a larger 280mm circular woofer, two midrange drivers and four tweeters.
Additionally, the Tower 7 supports LIVE Sound and a 10-band equaliser. Both speakers support Sony’s ULT sound modes.
Both models can be positioned vertically or horizontally. They also feature four handles for easier movement and carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating.
Sony claims up to 20 hours of battery life for the ULT Tower 5. The Tower 7 increases that figure to up to 30 hours.
Bigger lighting and party features
Sony has also focused heavily on the visual side of the new speakers. The ULT Tower 5 features 56 LEDs, while the Tower 7 gets 72 LEDs.
Both models support Bluetooth, USB-C, DJ inputs and karaoke features. They also support multi-speaker connectivity for larger setups.
The ULT Tower 5 additionally includes USB-A, RCA and XLR In/Out connections. It also has a dedicated microphone input.
Meanwhile, the Tower 7 supports XLR/RCA DJ input, USB-C and wired multi-speaker chaining.
Both speakers also feature a low-latency DSP and Sound Field Optimisation. The latter is designed to adjust audio based on the surrounding environment.
ULT Tower Max pushes output to 2,150W
The ULT Tower Max is the most powerful model in the new lineup. It has a rated output of 2,150W and uses three 280mm circular woofers.
Two woofers are positioned at the front, while another sits at the rear. The setup also includes ULT DUCT technology, two midrange drivers and four tweeters.
The speaker supports ULT1, ULT2 and LIVE FLAT modes. It also includes a 10-band equaliser.
Furthermore, the Tower Max supports 360-degree sound. Its Sound Field Optimisation system adjusts the audio based on surrounding noise and nearby walls.
Designed for large gatherings
The ULT Tower Max also expands the party-focused features. It includes karaoke controls for microphone volume and echo through the rear panel or companion app.
For connectivity, the speaker gets XLR/RCA DJ input and USB-C for PCs and smartphones. It also supports wired multi-speaker and stereo pairing.
The design includes four handles and side wheels for moving the large speaker. It can also be placed vertically or horizontally.
Lighting gets a major upgrade as well. The Tower Max features 100 LEDs, compared with 34 LEDs on the previous ULT Tower 10.
With three new models, Sony is expanding the ULT range across different party setups. The ULT Tower 5 focuses on portability, while the Tower 7 adds more output and features.
The Tower Max, meanwhile, is aimed at users who want a much larger audio setup with high output, 360-degree sound and extensive party features.
