Beats has launched the Beats 360 as its latest flagship over-ear headphones. The new model focuses on customisation while also bringing upgraded audio, noise cancellation and connectivity features.
The biggest design change is the interchangeable cushioning system. Users can replace both the ear cushions and headband cushion, allowing them to change the headphones’ look and feel. Beats says the headphones can also recognise the installed cushion setup and adjust acoustic tuning accordingly.
Beats 360 price and availability
The Beats 360 price in India is set at Rs 42,900. The headphones are available in Black, Cloud, Pink and Sky, with matching performance knit cushions included with each colour option.
Beats is also offering separate cushion kits for additional customisation. The performance knit kits come in Black, Cloud, Pink, Sky, Navy and Volt. UltraPlush options are available in Black and Cloud. Both variants are priced at Rs 6,900.
The headphones are available to order through Apple’s website. Retail and in-store availability begins September 24.
New acoustic architecture focuses on sound
Beats says the Beats 360 use a new acoustic architecture with custom-designed drivers. The drivers feature three-layer diaphragms and dual neodymium magnets.
According to the company, this setup is designed to deliver greater detail and depth while keeping distortion low. Beats has also upgraded the noise cancellation system, claiming up to 1.75 times more combined active and passive noise cancellation than the Beats Studio Pro.
ANC, Adaptive EQ and spatial audio
The Beats 360 support Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode. They also feature Adaptive EQ, which continuously adjusts acoustic frequencies based on how the headphones fit.
For immersive listening, the headphones support personalised spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. Accelerometer and gyroscope sensors inside the left ear cup enable the head-tracking feature. Dolby Atmos support is also included.
Nine microphones and cross-platform support
The Beats 360 feature nine digital MEMS microphones. Eight microphones are used for ANC, while three support voice pickup, with some microphones shared between the two systems.
A beam-forming microphone is also included to help improve voice clarity during calls. This makes the headphones suited to both music and everyday communication.
Connectivity comes through Bluetooth 5.3, with support for both Apple and Android devices. Apple users get features such as one-touch pairing, automatic switching, Audio Sharing, hands-free Siri, personalised spatial audio and Find My.
Android users get Fast Pair, Audio Switch and Find Hub support.
Beats 360 battery life and durability
The Beats 360 offer up to 32 hours of battery life, even with ANC and personalised spatial audio enabled, according to Beats. The headphones use USB Type-C for charging, while a five-minute charge can provide up to one hour of playback.
The headphones also receive an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance. They feature a fold-flat design and come with a woven ripstop fabric carrying case.
At Rs 42,900, the Beats 360 enter India’s premium over-ear headphone segment with customisation as one of their main differentiators. The interchangeable cushions add a practical personalisation option, while ANC, spatial audio, Dolby Atmos and cross-platform support round out the feature set.
