Samsung has unveiled its 2027 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany. The new range focuses on faster refresh rates, larger OLED screens and flexible display modes, giving gamers more options depending on the type of games they play.

The lineup includes the 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9, 42-inch curved OLED G7, 32-inch OLED G8 and 27-inch Odyssey G6. Among them, the G6 stands out with a refresh rate of up to 1,100Hz, while the OLED models focus on combining high refresh rates with improved picture quality.

Samsung also plans to expand its HDR10+ GAMING ecosystem to more than 20 AAA titles by the first half of 2027.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G9

The Odyssey OLED G9 G95SJ is a 49-inch DQHD gaming monitor and Samsung’s first 49-inch DQHD model with a 360Hz refresh rate. It uses a fifth-generation QD-OLED panel with Samsung’s Penta Tandem technology.

The monitor offers a 5,120×1,440-pixel resolution, 360Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms GtG response time. It also supports Dual Mode, allowing gamers to switch to a 2,560×720 resolution at up to 720Hz when speed matters more than resolution.

Samsung says the panel can reach peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits on a 3% window at 4K resolution. The RGB Stripe sub-pixel layout also aims to reduce colour fringing and improve text clarity.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8

The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 G80SJ combines UHD resolution with a 360Hz refresh rate. It also uses Samsung’s fifth-generation QD-OLED panel and Penta Tandem technology.

The monitor offers three display modes. Gamers can use UHD at 360Hz, QHD at 520Hz or FHD at 680Hz, depending on the game and the performance they want.

The OLED G8 also features Samsung’s Glare Free technology, which uses a film that the company says is 54 percent less glossy than conventional anti-reflection film. This should help reduce reflections during daytime gaming.

The monitor has a 0.03ms GtG response time, VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 600 and support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible.

For connectivity, it gets DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20, two HDMI ports, USB-C with 98W Power Delivery, a USB hub and KVM support.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G7

Samsung has also introduced the Odyssey OLED G7 G75SJ, a 42-inch curved OLED gaming monitor.

Samsung calls it the world’s first 42-inch 16:9 curved OLED gaming monitor. The display uses a 1000R curvature, 4K OLED resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms GtG response time.

The larger curved screen is aimed at gamers who want a more immersive view, particularly when playing RPGs and open-world titles. Samsung says the new model offers around 72 percent more screen area than its previous 32-inch model.

The monitor also features Glare Free technology to reduce reflections from external light sources.

Samsung Odyssey G6

The biggest refresh-rate upgrade comes with the 27-inch Odyssey G6 G60H. Samsung calls it the world’s first gaming monitor with a 1,100Hz refresh rate.

The G6 uses a Fast IPS panel with a 1ms response time and supports Dual Mode. Players can run games at HD resolution at up to 1,100Hz, or switch to QHD at up to 600Hz.

Samsung is targeting FPS players with the monitor, where motion clarity and fast response can matter more than high resolution.

The Odyssey G6 will be available globally in the second half of 2026.

Samsung Expands HDR10+ Gaming Support

Alongside the new monitors, Samsung is expanding its HDR10+ GAMING partnership with Activision Blizzard.

The technology aims to improve colour and contrast on compatible Samsung displays and Odyssey monitors while helping games better reflect their intended visual presentation.

Samsung plans to bring HDR10+ GAMING to more than 20 AAA titles by the first half of 2027. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be among the games highlighted as part of the initiative.

Samsung is also expanding support for its Odyssey 3D gaming technology. New compatible titles, including Cyberpunk 2077 and Cronos: The New Dawn, will be showcased at Gamescom 2026.
