The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G has made its global debut with a 10,000mAh battery, 100W charging and a 50-megapixel camera with OIS. Xiaomi is also expected to bring the smartphone to India soon.

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G in select global markets, giving us a closer look at the company’s latest Pro Max smartphone. The handset packs several notable features, including a large 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, 100W wired charging and a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display. It also runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset and offers up to 512GB of storage.

However, the global launch may not be the biggest update for Indian buyers. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G and Redmi Note 17 Pro are tipped to launch in India on September 15.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G Price, Availability

In Japan, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G starts at JPY 79,980 (roughly Rs. 47,900) for the 8GB + 256GB variant. The 8GB + 512GB model costs JPY 99,980 (roughly Rs. 59,900).

The smartphone comes in Cloudbrush, Purple and Black colour options. Xiaomi has not yet revealed the India price. However, the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max are tipped to launch in India on September 15.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G Specifications, Features

The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen can reach up to 3,500 nits of brightness and supports 12-bit colour depth, DCI-P3 colour gamut, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the display, while 3,840Hz PWM dimming and Wet Touch Technology 2.0 add to the feature set.

Under the hood, the smartphone uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset with up to 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Xiaomi ships the phone with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.

The software also brings several AI-powered image editing tools, including AI Eraser Pro, AI Reflection Removal, AI Image Enhancement, AI Sky and AI Bokeh. The phone also supports Google Gemini features, although availability can vary by region and software version.

For photography, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G carries a 50-megapixel primary rear camera with OIS, paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. The rear setup supports 4K video recording at 30fps. On the front, the phone gets a 32-megapixel selfie camera that can also record 4K video at 30fps.

The phone supports 5G, dual SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC. It also includes an infrared blaster, along with an in-screen fingerprint sensor and facial recognition.

The biggest highlight, however, is the battery. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G packs a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired charging. It also supports up to 27W wired reverse charging, allowing the phone to power other compatible devices.

Xiaomi claims the handset meets IP66 and IP68 ratings for water and dust resistance. The phone measures 163.44×78.27×8.65mm, while the Cloudbrush variant is slightly thinner at 8.57mm. It weighs 229.5g.
