Panasonic has launched the Lumix L10 fixed-lens camera in India as it marks the 25th anniversary of its Lumix camera range. The new camera combines a Leica-branded zoom lens with a 4/3-type sensor and Phase Hybrid Autofocus.
The Panasonic Lumix L10 is priced from Rs. 1,79,990 in India. It is scheduled to go on sale later this month through multiple retail channels.
The camera is positioned as a premium fixed-lens option. It also brings features such as macro photography, Dynamic Range Boost and Panasonic’s newer film-inspired Photo Styles.
Panasonic Lumix L10 price and availability
The Panasonic Lumix L10 carries a starting price of Rs. 1,79,990 in India. The company has not specified different prices for its two colour options. The camera will be available in Black and Silver finishes. Panasonic says sales will begin later this month through multiple retail channels.
The Lumix L10 has a leather-textured Saffiano finish and weighs approximately 508 grams. This gives the camera a more premium design while keeping it relatively compact for a fixed-lens model.
Leica lens and 779-point autofocus
The biggest highlight of the Lumix L10 is its Leica DC Vario-Summilux lens. It offers a variable focal length ranging from 24mm to 75mm.
The lens also features a variable f/1.7 to f/2.8 aperture. This gives users flexibility across different shooting conditions, while the camera also supports macro photography. Panasonic claims the Lumix L10 can focus on subjects from as close as 3cm when using its macro mode.
The camera uses Phase Hybrid Autofocus with 779 focus points. The system is designed to provide faster and more accurate focusing across the frame. For framing and composition, the Lumix L10 features a 2.36-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder. It also gets a 1.84-million-dot free-angle monitor.
20.4MP sensor and Dynamic Range Boost
The Lumix L10 uses a 4/3-type back-illuminated CMOS sensor. Panasonic says its latest image processing engine delivers an effective resolution of 20.4 megapixels.
The camera also features Dynamic Range Boost. The company claims this technology can expand shadow details during still photography. The Lumix L10 supports multi-aspect shooting as well. Users can capture images in 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9 formats while maintaining the viewing angle.
This gives photographers more flexibility when shooting for different formats without having to rely entirely on cropping later.
Film-inspired Photo Styles and REAL-TIME LUT
Panasonic is also adding new creative controls to the Lumix L10.
The camera features two new film-inspired Photo Styles called L.Classic and L.ClassicGold. These are designed to give images a distinct look directly from the camera.
It also supports REAL-TIME LUT. The feature allows users to load custom colour profiles directly into the camera and apply them while shooting.
Together, these features make the Lumix L10 more appealing to photographers who want to create a particular visual style without relying entirely on post-processing.
With its Leica lens, 20.4-megapixel sensor, 779-point autofocus system and creative colour tools, the Lumix L10 is aimed at photographers looking for a premium fixed-lens camera rather than an interchangeable-lens setup.
