LG has expanded its portable audio lineup in India with the launch of the Xboom Bounce and Xboom Grab Bluetooth speakers. The new speakers are the first products to arrive under LG’s global Xboom partnership with musician and technology entrepreneur will.i.am. Along with redesigned hardware, the speakers introduce AI-backed sound tuning, intelligent lighting, and adaptive audio features that automatically adjust playback based on the surrounding environment.

The launch signals LG’s growing focus on smart portable audio, where software now plays as important a role as hardware.

Xboom Bounce price in India and availability

The Xboom Bounce is priced at Rs. 12,999, while the Xboom Grab costs Rs. 9,999.

Both speakers are available in Black and can be purchased through LG India’s official website.

What makes the Xboom Bounce and Xboom Grab different?

While both speakers share the same AI-powered software features, they target different users.

The Xboom Bounce is designed for users who want a larger speaker with stronger bass and longer battery life. It features a 2.1-channel speaker system that combines two 20mm dome tweeters, a large woofer, and dual passive radiators. Together, they deliver 40W of total audio output.

The Xboom Grab, meanwhile, focuses on portability. It uses a 1.1-channel two-way speaker system with a 16mm tweeter, a compact woofer, and dual passive radiators. Total output is rated at 30W, making it suitable for travel, outdoor activities, and casual listening.

How does LG’s AI technology improve audio?

A major highlight of the Xboom Bounce series is the integration of AI-powered audio features.

AI Sound analyzes the content being played and automatically adjusts the sound profile to match music, podcasts, or other audio. Users can also switch between Bass Boost, Standard, and Custom EQ modes through LG’s companion app.

AI Calibration detects the listening environment and fine-tunes the audio output based on the available space. At the same time, AI Lighting synchronizes the built-in LEDs with the rhythm of the music to create a more immersive experience.

LG says will.i.am also contributed to the speakers’ overall tuning and sound signature as part of the collaboration.

Battery life, connectivity, and durability

Battery life is another key difference between the two models.

The Xboom Bounce offers up to 30 hours of playback on a single charge, while the Xboom Grab delivers up to 20 hours. Both speakers recharge through USB Type-C and can be fully charged in approximately three hours.

Connectivity features include Bluetooth 5.4 with SBC and AAC codec support, multipoint pairing, Party Link for connecting multiple speakers, speakerphone functionality, firmware updates over the air, and voice assistant support through Google Assistant and Siri.

Both speakers are built for outdoor use. They carry IP67 ratings for dust and water resistance and meet Military Standard 810G durability certification.

The Xboom Bounce weighs 1.42kg and includes an integrated carrying strap with illuminated passive radiators.

The lighter Xboom Grab weighs just 700g. It can be placed vertically or horizontally and is designed to fit into bicycle bottle holders and standard cup holders. LG also includes carrying straps for easier portability.

Why does the Xboom Bounce launch matter?

The Xboom Bounce and Xboom Grab represent LG’s attempt to bring artificial intelligence beyond smartphones and televisions into everyday audio products. Instead of relying solely on hardware improvements, the company is using AI to automatically optimize sound, lighting, and listening experiences.

As portable speakers become increasingly competitive, features such as adaptive sound tuning, rugged construction, and longer battery life are becoming key differentiators. With the Xboom Bounce and Xboom Grab, LG is positioning its latest speakers as smart audio companions for both indoor entertainment and outdoor adventures.
