Samsung’s next foldable phones could bring some long-awaited upgrades. A new leak suggests the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 may support 45W wired fast charging. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could also pack a larger battery and a brighter display. Although Samsung has not confirmed these details, the rumored upgrades point to better battery life and faster charging.
Reports suggest Samsung could unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra next month.
What Could Change on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8?
Tipster Lanzuk (yeux1122) claims the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 will support 45W wired charging through its USB Type-C port. If true, this would mark a major jump from the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The current Galaxy Z Flip 7 offers 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It also packs a 4,300mAh battery.
Many Galaxy users have asked Samsung to improve charging speeds. A 45W charging system would reduce charging time and make the foldable more practical for everyday use.
Recent reports also suggest Samsung may power the Galaxy Z Flip 8 with either the 2nm Exynos 2600 chip or a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. However, Samsung has not confirmed either chipset.
Will the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra Get a Bigger Battery?
The same leak claims Samsung plans to increase battery capacity across its premium foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra may carry a 5,000mAh battery. Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 could include a 4,800mAh battery.
For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs a 4,400mAh battery with 25W wired charging.
If these details prove accurate, both new foldables could deliver longer battery life. They may also support 45W fast charging.
Could Samsung Introduce a Brighter Foldable Display?
Another tipster, Ice Universe, says the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra may feature a display brighter than the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Samsung has not disclosed the S26 Ultra’s peak brightness. However, industry reports estimate it reaches around 2,800 nits.
A brighter display would improve outdoor visibility. It could also enhance HDR video playback and gaming.
What Does This Leak Mean?
Samsung has not announced the Galaxy Z Flip 8 or the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra yet. As a result, buyers should treat these specifications as rumors until the company makes them official.
Even so, the leaks suggest Samsung is focusing on two areas users have consistently requested: faster charging and better battery life. If the company delivers these upgrades, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could become stronger competitors in the premium foldable smartphone market.
