News in Short

  • Both smart speakers run on Amazon’s custom AZ3 series chips.
  • Echo Dot Max promises stronger bass than the previous Echo Dot.
  • Echo Studio supports Dolby Atmos and spatial audio features.

Amazon has launched the Amazon Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio in India. The smart speakers were first introduced globally in September 2025, but they are now officially available for Indian buyers. The launch brings Amazon’s new AZ3 series chips to India, aiming to improve Alexa’s voice detection and smart home performance.

The keyword “Amazon Echo Dot” is currently trending across Google searches. That makes this launch important for users looking to upgrade their smart home setup or improve Alexa-based automation at home.

The Amazon Echo Dot Max starts at Rs. 10,999, while the Echo Studio costs Rs. 23,999 in India.

What is new in the Amazon Echo Dot Max?

The Amazon Echo Dot Max comes with a redesigned audio system focused on bass performance. Amazon claims the speaker delivers three times more bass compared to the fifth-generation Echo Dot.

The device uses a two-way speaker setup with a tweeter and a high-excursion woofer. As a result, users may notice louder and deeper sound during music playback.

Amazon has also added the custom AZ3 chip inside the Echo Dot Max. According to the company, the chip improves Alexa’s wake-word detection by nearly 50 percent. It also helps the assistant understand conversations more accurately.

The smart speaker is available in Amethyst, Glacier White, and Graphite colors.

Why is Amazon pushing AZ3 chips inside Echo devices?

Amazon is increasingly focusing on in-house silicon to improve Alexa’s speed and responsiveness. The new AZ3 and AZ3 Pro chips are designed specifically for Echo devices.

The company says these chips improve conversation detection and reduce delays while interacting with Alexa. This matters because voice assistants are now expected to respond faster and manage more connected devices inside homes.

Both the Amazon Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Matter, and Thread connectivity standards. They also include built-in smart home hubs.

That means users can directly connect compatible lights, fans, smart plugs, and air conditioners without needing separate hardware.

What does the Echo Studio offer?

The Amazon Echo Studio targets users who want a more premium audio experience. It includes spatial audio support and Dolby Atmos integration for immersive sound.

The speaker packs one woofer and three full-range drivers. Amazon has also used a 3D knit fabric design for the outer body.

Interestingly, users can connect up to five compatible Echo speakers with Fire TV devices to create what Amazon calls the “Alexa Home Theatre experience.”

Amazon enters India’s growing smart home race

India’s smart speaker market continues to grow as more users adopt connected home devices. With the Amazon Echo Dot lineup expanding, Amazon appears focused on strengthening Alexa’s position in Indian households.

The new Echo devices are already available through Amazon and Flipkart. Prime users can also receive cashback offers through Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit cards.

The Amazon Echo Dot launch also reflects a bigger trend. Smart speakers are no longer just about music. They are increasingly becoming central control hubs for connected homes and AI-powered voice experiences.
