Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge, and now, almost everything about its cameras is out in the open. The phone is expected to be officially announced on May 13, with a global release following on May 30. In Korea and China, it will go on sale from May 23. The expected price in global markets could hover around ₹89,999 if Samsung follows its previous pricing pattern.
200 MP main camera borrowed from the Ultra
The highlight of the S25 Edge’s camera system is its 200 MP main sensor. It’s the same sensor seen in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with a 1/1.3-inch type size. That means users can expect strong performance, especially in 2x zoom shots, even without a dedicated telephoto lens. While it’s not a full flagship camera experience, this sensor choice does give the Edge model some powerful imaging capabilities.
Ultrawide camera keeps it simple
On the flip side, the ultrawide camera uses a 12 MP sensor, sized at 1/2.55 inches. This is the same ultrawide found in the standard Galaxy S25 and S25+. Unlike the Ultra model, which has a sharper 50 MP ultrawide sensor, the Edge keeps things more modest. It’s a clear sign that Samsung is reserving top-tier camera hardware for its Ultra line.
No telephoto, but slim design may justify it
One notable omission is a telephoto lens. While that might be a dealbreaker for mobile photography enthusiasts, it makes sense if Samsung is focusing on keeping the S25 Edge slim and sleek. The leak also revealed that the selfie camera uses Samsung’s S5K3LU sensor. It has a 1/3.2-inch type size, likely aimed at offering decent clarity in everyday selfies and video calls.

While Samsung has yet to confirm India availability, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to land here shortly after the global rollout. Given Samsung’s pricing trends, the Indian price could be around ₹89,999. This positions the device between the standard S25+ and the S25 Ultra.
